Tips and Tricks, plus Work in Progress

We want to be sure you’re aware of a few tips and tricks for enhancing your user experience, and we’re hard at work correcting a few glitches in the system. Our apologies for the inconvenience.

1. Adding Users

When adding new users to the system, if your attempt to save is unsuccessful, this is because you entered a username that is already in use by another ESO customer, or because you did not fill out a required field. In either case, correct the information and save again. Note: If you get another save error, before you attempt to correct the error, exit the user record and then immediately re-enter the user record. Now look to see if the change has been accepted. We have found that sometimes the “save” actually has been successful even though the message indicates that the save failed, and we are working to fix this.

2. Adding Incident Locations

When you add new incident locations in your admin console, be sure to use the “look up” (the magnifying glass icon) feature after entering either the city or the zip code. Using the look up feature will auto-populate the GPS Latitude and GPS Longitude fields; this is required for the location to “save.” If you receive a save error, please verify that the latitudes and longitudes auto-filled.

3. Accessing Quick Notes before the Patient Refusal Form

If you access Quick Notes prior to pulling up the signatures page, the quick notes you enter will auto-insert into the patient refusal form. Likewise, if you try to attach a file (such as an EKG strip) to a PCR prior to pulling up the signatures page, you may receive an error message when attempting to access the form. For the time being, be sure to access the signatures page prior to using Quick Notes or attaching files. This issue has been resolved, and the fix will go out in our next release.

4. Patient History/Allergies/Medications

When you are entering patient history/allergies/medications, be aware that any comments you add won’t save the first time around unless you hit the Add button before entering those comments. In other words, CLICK ADD FIRST, THEN use the drop-down lists to select Med Hx/Allergies/Meds and Type, then enter your Medication/Comments.

5. Signatures Page

Going directly to the signatures page in the mobile application will result in any signatures you have obtained not saving. The reason for this is that the auto-save process has not yet been initialized until another page has been accessed. Therefore, be sure to click on another tab (just clicking is sufficient; you don’t need to enter data) before you access the signatures page.
